It wasn’t just another Monday in Kansas City, Missouri when gnash brought his Broken Hearts Club Tour to the recordBar with Guardin and Mallrat joining him to open up the show. This was a show I will never forget and is currently sitting in my top ten favorite concerts I’ve ever attended. Though lately it seems like KC is getting a reputation for being some of the less attended shows on some tours, the crowd that shows up really knows how to represent.
gnash had a well curated environment for the show to take place in. From the song lyrics printed out and taped in places all over the venue along with the broken heart balloons to the silver hanging streamers and neon broken heart that decorated his stage, it truly felt like a party full of comforting music, vibes and people.
On January 10th, 2019 gnash released his newest album titled ‘we’. He brought a lot of the songs from this album with him to the stage which included ‘imagine if’, ‘wait’, ‘pajamas’, and ‘nobody’s home’. Also performed from ‘we’ was ‘dear insecurity’ in which he had the whole venue shouting out about how their imperfections make them perfect, a powerful and incredible moment to witness. Additionally performed from the newest album were ‘insane’ along with the tour title track ‘broken hearts club’ and a personal favorite of mine ‘t-shirt’. While ‘we’ is the newest album released by gnash, it isn’t his only. His performance also included songs from ‘u’ and ‘me’. One more important song included on his setlist is ‘i hate u, i love u’, a song that was previously included on ‘us’ and also included on ‘we’.
Even though the Broken Hearts Club Tour finished its run in the states on February 8th, it will pick up in Europe this March. Find gnash’s music on your favorite listening platforms and @gnash on all social media’s, except for Facebook where you can find him @gnashgnashgnash.
