Dynamic alternative indie band Sandman Sleeps released their evocative debut album, Crisis Actor, on March 26th, and it is simply electric. With a focus on topics such as disassociation, hyperawareness of mind and body, relationships, and fear of illness, the album is a timeless and relatable for people of all ages.
Despite the many themes of the record, there is an overall cohesive comfort throughout the topics. Melodies and prowling basslines create unique and unified hooks. After listening to the album, it feels like a journey has been completed. The powerful efforts of the Floridian band have built into an ultra fine collection of songs inspired by roughly ten years of song craft.
Sandman Sleeps is contrived of vocalist and guitarist Cristina Peck, bassist Alex Peck, drummer Karsten Andersen, and guitarist Zack Jones and is for fans of Pixies, Talking Heads, and Kate Bush. This lineup has come together as of 2020 after many years of detachment and union. These ups and downs have only added to the significance of the ultimate completion and release of Crisis Actor.
